A couple of days ago I attended a social get-together, which one friend's daughter calls the "Mommy blabby party." And she's right, it's a chance to eat, drink and -- most of all -- talk. As always, topics abounded, from the attractiveness of a certain tennis instructor to what our country's role should be in response to the devastation in Haiti.
On most issues, a healthy debate ensued from various perspectives, but one subject received unanimous agreement: "iPad," reminiscent of feminine hygiene products, is an awful name for Apple's new tablet. And it turns out, we're not alone. A CNBC anchor said the iPad was a "terrible name" for the tablet. And a New York Times blogger explored the cringe-inducing name further.

This is one time when I might have veered outside of the established naming convention and leaned on a little creativity instead.
